This true story of abuse to a child is one of mystery at first. You slowly understand why she does what she does while in the classroom. Her teacher tries to look beyond the unusual behavior and finds things she wishes she had not.
The ending is of a surprise and thankfully one that leaves you contented with the outcome.
I would recommend this book to those who look for real life issues and the mysteries behind the mind.

I have read all of Torey Hayden's books. Not only is she a wonderful person but, she is a superb author. She really describes these kids to such an extent that you feel like you know them. Can't tell you how many times that I have cried for these children. Or how many times that I have cheered that Torey Hayden was brought into their lives! GREAT READ!

I READ THIS BOOK A FEW YEARS AGO AND I CAN STILL REMEMBER IT. I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED. COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN EVEN FOR A SECOND. WORTH READING, DEFINATELY.

Torey Hayden's writing brings you into her classroom where this abused little girl slowly reveals the horrible cruelty she has been subjected to. Hayden not only tells her student's story, but draws you into Hayden's own mind and shares her thoughts and fears as she works tirelessly to save this little 'Ghost.'

I read the book in a matter of 3 days.. It was absolutely amazing how one teacher could make such a difference. I am happy with the ending although I wish there would have been more detail and findings... But other than that... I loved it....
