O Is for Outlaw

With her 15th bestseller, you'll see why 'Grafton keeps pulling out surprises--and pulling us in' (Entertainment Weekly). This time, Kinsey Millhone shows us how 'till death do us part' can take on a whole new meaning.
It's early Monday morning when Kinsey receives a call from a stranger. He offers Kinsey a box that belonged to Kinsey's first husband, ex-vice cop Mickey Macgruder. Among the documents, she discovers an unopened letter addressed to her from her ex-husband's lover. Lover? Kinsey knew Mickey was a lot of things, but unfaithful was not one of them. Though she hadn't seen him in 15 years, she decides to track him down--a wrong move for Kinsey. Mickey has been shot with a gun registered in her name and the police have her pegged as the number one suspect. Now to save herself, Kinsey must figure out who tried to kill Mickey and how it all ties together with a murder committed 15 years before--a murder Kinsey thought Mickey committed--and the final straw that destroyed their marriage. Now she must ask herself: Was she wrong about Mickey after all these years?
If you ever thought you knew Kinsey Millhone, think again. In 'O' Is for Outlaw, you'll see her as you never have before--because this time, it's personal.

good read

I hadn't read a Grafton novel for a while, but have always enjoyed her stories. This one is as good as all her others ... delves a little deeper into how deeply others touch our lives and the impact relationships have on us.

No page-turner

I love Kinsey Millhone, but this was not "her" best story. The beginning was quick-paced and humorous but the middle and end grew tedious. So many characters, not all of whom were well fleshed out, made it difficult to keep up with who was who so that by the time I closed the book, all I could think was "thank God that's over." But loving the other books in this series, I'll definitely pick up the next in hopes that Sue G. finds her groove again.

From A to Q Exciting in every way.

On top as always with Kinsey Millhone. She twists you and turns you. Leading you in one direction and then another until finally she reveals the true culprit to the crime at hand. Very enjoyable reading without the explicit sex and language that seem to go along with alot of writing these days. I truly enjoy each book and look forward to the next.
