A tall cold glass of lemonade, a lounge chair in the shade, and Danielle Steel’s newest dazzler—now that’s the makings of a perfect summer day.
Flame-haired Fiona Monaghan is the embodiment of Chic, the high fashion magazine she’s taken straight to the top, and advertising mogul John Anderson is duly enchanted. Fiona, on the other hand, is surprised by her attraction to a starched-shirt exec like John. Yes, he’s handsome. He’s also a conservative widower with two teenaged daughters! What would he think of her freewheeling lifestyle…her couture-packed wardrobe…or the “men” in her life: Sir Winston, her beloved old bulldog, and her houseman Jamal, who sets the standard for gold lamé? Impulsively Fiona invites John to the Paris shows where, in the seductive “city of lights,” they find out how powerfully—and passionately—opposites attract.
Within weeks of their return to New York, John makes friends with Sir Winston and Fiona makes room in her closet. But not even a saint, much less an independent career woman like Fiona, would stand for the assault by John’s housekeeper from hell and his openly hostile daughters. Soon, what began as a blissful relationship completely unravels, and Fiona, for the first time in her life, questions her heart’s desires. Will she ever get a second chance at love? With Danielle Steel, hope is always on the horizon….

I really like this book. All of Danielle Steele books are great.

I am a big fan of Danielle Steel, however this was not one of my favorites. It was a littel short and the content was lacking in some areas.

Good lead character, kept me fairly interested, never quite understood the mid-book break up...could have elaborated more on the male leads life and family.

This book was interesting but kind of predictable. I knew what would happen and when it finally did, there was no passion involved. I'm disappointed I wasted my time reading this book.

I HAD A HARD TIME GO ON WITH THIS BOOK. SO BORING, HALF WAY THROUGH AND I COULDN'T EVEN PICK IT UP AGAIN TO FINISH IT.
