While en route to Rhode Island, where she is to begin teaching at an exclusive private school, Maggie is tortured by memories. A year ago her husband died in a drowning incident, and the following day her oldest daughter Carrie took off for reasons she hasn’t revealed, not even to her younger sibling, Beck. Maggie hasn’t given up trying to find Carrie. But first she’s going back to find herself, in a sense, since Newport is the home of her estranged sister...and J.D., the man they both love.
“In [Luanne Rice’s] hands families, and their values...seem worth cherishing,” says the San Francisco Chronicle. Such is the case with The Geometry of Sisters, as the women in this poignant story discover the eternal truths of sisterhood.
