Down River (Large Print)

Competing for a top position in her law firm, Lisa Vaughan is at a corporate retreat in Alaska with her two biggest rivals. But it’s the wild terrain that gets the better of her when, on the way to meet ex-fiancé Mitch Braxton, the resort’s owner, Lisa is suddenly plunged into frigid waters and swept away.

And that’s only the beginning of Karen Harper’s Down River. Mitch, desperate to save his former lover, succeeds, only to find she’s still in grave peril. If what Lisa believes is true, that she didn’t fall into the river but was pushed, it means a devious killer is stalking them. To survive, they’ll have to put hurt feelings aside, for now, and measure any future together in days rather than years.

This book keeps you interested from start to finish. It's easy to get into, with just the right number and mix of characters. A combination of action/adventure and romance. I recommend it without reservation.

Fast Moving Plot

I'm a first-time reader of Karen Harper and will surely add her to my "favorites" list. Although I am stilling reading Down River, I was immediately involved in the story by the second page. Her descriptive action scenes carry you effortlessly from page to page; chapter to chapter. She's laid out the basic story line quickly and skillfully introduced some of the subplots early on, too. Hope she creates more stories like this one!

Interesting

I am a first time reader of Karen Harper's books. She provides descriptions that are real and take you into the scenes. The book started a little slow, but then escalated very fast into a thriller. Keep up the good work and research that apparently is involved in writing a story that people can enjoy.
